Frequently asked questions
- How do I rotate a photo that is sideways?
- Choose Rotate and select 90° or 270° depending on which way it needs to turn. Photos taken on phones often display sideways when EXIF orientation data is ignored by the viewing app.
- What is the difference between rotating and flipping?
- Rotating turns the image around its centre, so the content stays the same way round. Flipping mirrors it, which reverses text and makes the image a mirror of the original.
- Does rotating reduce quality?
- Rotating by 90°, 180° or 270° is lossless — the pixels are simply rearranged. Quality only changes if you save to a lossy format afterwards.
